JERRY PRICE (JAY-PEA) CRAWFORD S.R. son of the late Harry S. Crawford and Julia Price Crawford, was born February 21, 1936. Jerry spent most of his life in Charleston West Virginia where he was born. Later he moved to Bridgeport, Connecticut; where he worked for Carpenter Steel Inc for 28 years. After retiring from Carpenter Steel, Jerry moved to West Haven, Connecticut. Where he was employed by the City of New Haven Board Education as a custodian engineer for fourteen years until he retired.     Jerry leaves to mourn his passing his wife Sheridan L. Crawford.  Children: Robyn Crawford, Della Crawford, Mildred Crawford, Valerie, Tina, Julie, Brenda Chris, Laron, Vanessa, Marcus, Melissa, Jerry III, Jermar, and Sherrissa.  Special grandson Jerome D. Crawford. Thirty-one grand children, Four great grand children, One neice and one nephew. A host of relatives and friends.  Jerry was predeceased by his parents (Harry and Julia Crawford) a son (Jerry P .Crawford Jr) a brother (Harry Crawford). First Vice President for twenty years and served as New England State’s Trustee for many years... He served Gillison Council# 75 P.E.R’.s of Connecticut as Chief Antler.  For the last fifty years, Jerry has been a loyal a member of the Improved Benevolent Protective Order of Elk’s of the World. He first joined New Era Lodge in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Where he served as Exalted Ruler. He served New State’s Association as four years. He currently was a member of East Rock Lodge#141, New Haven, Connecticut where he served as Trustee and Treasurer for numerous years. He was a member of the Antler Guard Department .Eastern Divison.Connecticut Brigade Past Commander of Bouyer/Davis Marching Unit and member of Thomson /Warfield Bouyer /Davis Marching Unit. A P.G.E.R. and Past Grand Region One Director of the Grand Lodge Department of Veteran Affairs.

Memorials:

A celebration of his life will take place Saturday February 6, 2010 at 4PM East Rock Elks Lodge, 87 Webster Street, New Haven, CT. Friends and family may call Saturday at the Elks from 4-5PM.  Interment is private.
