I called you a week ago on a Sunday and was pleasantly surprised that you had answered and that you were very genuine and answered my questions and found out details for us. Donna was not upset and asked me to call around to get info on Jewish funerals.Her husband was at Hospice and was not doing well at all. When I called you, you made me feel at ease right away and I assured her that this was a good choice to talk to you. You were very knowledgable and directed us in the proper way.You put us both at ease at a difficult and emotional time.We are very grateful to you and your staff. Donna is very comfortable in talking with them and you have gone above and beyond to make sure that Arthur Barent had a peaceful caring service. I thank you so much. |

| Comments: | I have worked with Shirley at the Hospital of St. Raphael for the past 26 years. I would like to say goodbye to a wonderful friend and co-worker. Shirley's love for her family and friends and faith in our Lord, Jesus Christ, was a true inspiration for me. We talked great lengths about her illness, but she feared not because her life was in God's hands-she knew He would protect and guide her through this ordeal. Awaiting in heaven was her beloved husband, Teddy Young. She couldn't wait for that day when she would join Teddy again! God Bless you Shirley, I am going to miss you and thank-you for being the wonderful person you were. I will never forget you!!! |

| Comments: | On Thursday morning at 4:55am I received a telephone from a Nurse from the Arden House,Hamden, CT. I knew it was either Mr. Thomas Callahan calling or it was someone contacting me to tell me that he had gone to be with the Lord. I was all alone at home in Danielson, CT., Thomas had been a loving friend to me for many years. I knew that It was time for me to take charge of his final arrangements. I stayed calm, prayed asking God for guidance. Immediately after, I called Howard K Hill and left a message, requesting a returned call, soon after Mr. Hill called me back. I explained to him that my good friend of many years had passed just moments earlier. Even at this hour in the morning, Mr. Hill listened to me patiently as I reminiscenced about my friend Thomas. I made it clear to Mr. Hill sometime ago that I would see to it that any friends or family members that I was involved in their final services, I would contact him for the professional services, as I had already instructed my children daughter Sherell and son Gerard of my desires. Mr. Hill is not just a fine business man in the community in which his business is housed, he is a positive professional friend to everyone! He and his staff are the best. |
